Progress of the Sweding project

For our sweding we choose a clip from White Chicks.

But it wasn't our first option. When figuring out what film we would recreate, we had every person in our group choose a film and pitch the scene they wanted to do, but we never came to an agreement. White chicks were chosen because a third party suggested it, and because it combined all the types of scenes my team wanted to do.

After finally choosing a scene, we started figuring out our mise en scene:

We ended up filming outside my neighbor's house and filming inside my house

We had two different choices of cars:

And ended up choosing the Nissan because it was a similar in size to the car Terry Cruz drove.

Additionally, we discussed what we choose our actors and figured out what we would wear:

For My characters outfit we got a blonde wig, pink and white shirts, grey jeans, a pick jacket, and white heels.

We actually had to reschedule our shooting around this wig, because we originally planned to shoot on Sunday, but the wig didn't come till Monday, so we ended up filming on Tuesday.

For Dereck's character we got a suite with white shirt and black blazar and dress pants.

We also brought our prop dog, sweetie, who was a vital point of our film:

We took some test shots before filming scenes in the car to ensure the scene look right

And a funny problem we had was how Dereck would mess up his lines because of how uncomfortable he felt saying the lines:

But he excelled so much in the singing scene, and gave it his all every take he sang, so much so Jacquie and I joined in in one take:

We tried our best to match this car scene camera angles with the exact ones from the scene. We did close ups, front window shot, torso to head shots. Jacquie did an amazing job filming these scenes.

Once we finished the car scene, we took a break in my house and ate food. Then we started the restaurant scene in my living room. We had a problem with filming this scene because Sydney wasn't able to make it to my house, so when a scene had all three of us in it, we had to tape the phone to the wall to get the shot. Additionally, we were unable to film the. Restaurant scene showing the back wall because the entire wall is a mirror and it would catch the camera in the shot.
