Winter Media Consumption
My media consumption over December
I was really busy during a lot of December including the first and some of the second week of break, so I wasn't on my phone a lot or watching many films.
Tv shows:
Stranger Things Season 5
I enjoyed the Stranger Things ending despite it not being the best. I believe them defeating Vecna and the Mind flair was too easy and could have been focused on more. And that there should have been more backstory on whether Henry Creel was being controlled by the Mind flair or not. Furthermore, the ending left much to be desired. I think the producers were too afraid to have a strong ending that some people would like and others wouldn't that they just decided to try to appeal to everyone by letting the audience choose whether they thought eleven died or not. Overall though I did enjoy seeing this story come to an end.
Kaos
The Rookie (rewatch)
I rewatched the cop show again because it starting to be my comfort show. I enjoy the simple plot of the seeing how new cops live through learning how to be a cop. Additionally, the underlying drama between the characters is really good. I especially like the drama that takes place with Tim and Lucy. Their dynamic of enemies to friends to lovers is really fun to watch. Btw, season 8 is just coming out and I am currently watching it.
Percy Jackson season 1 and 2
I rewatched season 1 of Percy Jackson so I had a fresh memory of it to watch season 2 that is still coming out with an episode every week. I enjoy the plot of the show and all the amazing costumes and designs of the sets; it must have been really expensive. Additionally, I heard that this series is much more book accurate then the Percy Jackson movies which I have also watched, and I can see I enjoy the series more that the movies.
Movies:
Avatar (rewatch)
I have started to rewatch the Avatar series for the new movies Avatar: Fire and Ash that I am going to watch soon. And as usual the show is amazing, because it is the first of its kind with the motion capture, and performance capture technology in these movies, I don't think this series will ever lose its spark.
The Grinch (Jimmy Kerry)
I watch this movie every Christmas season. It's just one of the movies that will never grow old the music and funny moments always capitalize on my annual Christmas nostalgia.
Elf
Again, this is one of those nostalgic Christmas movies I watch every year. The simple plot is so enjoyable, and the comedic scenes always make me laugh. Additionally, Will Ferrel really sells the role while his child like wonder in the movies. I think this movie reminds adults that it's okay to act a little childish, which is why so many people like it.
Snow White (Live Action)
This movie sucked. I didn't even finish watching it, I didn't like that they replaced the dwarves with other magical creatures, and it didn't follow the original Disney plot. Additionally, I have previously watched some of the interviews with the actors, and I don't like how the actor who played snow white kept putting down the plot of the original movie. Not good marketing. And that haircut does not suite her face structure.
Video Games:
Minecraft
I recently lost my Minecraft world, so I actually had to start over sadly. I enjoy the game and I noticed I had a much easier time collecting materials and searching for certain locations. Though I am sad that I lost all of the houses I built.
CookingDom
I recently got this app that essentially guides you through cooking meals in a certain amount of time. And because I like cooking already it opens me up to some recipes I never would have thought of making in real life. I play this game while watching comfort shows like Rookie. This is how I enjoyed the few free days I had of winter break. It was very relaxing.
Thank you for reading !! :)
